David Kennedy
Executive Advisor

David Kennedy has served as Executive Advisor to the Cadent Energy Partners investment partnerships since 2005. He is a self-employed consultant, investor and corporate director in the energy industry.

David is currently a member of the board of directors of Carbon Natural Gas Company. He was director of Nytis USA, the predecessor of Carbon Natural Gas Company and of Nytis USA Exploration Company from 2004-2012. He was a director and chair of the audit committee of Logan International from 2008 to 2016 when the company was sold. From 2001 to 2006, Mr. Kennedy was chair of the endowment for a Westiminster School in Simsbury CT.

From 2001 to 2004 David served as an advisor to the RBC Energy Fund. From 1999 to 2004 he was a director of Carbon Energy Corporation before its sale to Evergreen Resources in 2004. From 1996 to 2006 he was a director and chairman of the audit committee of Maverick Tube Corporation, a leading producer of welded tubular steel products used in the oil and natural gas industry, sold to Tenaris SA in 2006. From 1981 to 1998 he was a principal with First Reserve Corporation joining at its founding as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and becoming a Managing Director in 1984. David’s responsibilities included deal origination and structuring and working with management teams to implement growth initiatives and exit strategies. From 1974 to 1981 David was with Price Waterhouse in San Francisco and New York in audit and tax services before leaving to join First Reserve.

He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Yale University and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.
