SPI Petroleum, LLC was originally formed to acquire Oklahoma City-based Simons Petroleum, which is one of the largest independent petroleum distribution companies in the U.S. Simons distributes diesel, lubricants and specialty chemicals to commercial and industrial customers, including transportation companies on a national basis and the drilling industry in strategic regions. An affiliate of SPI Petroleum recently filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for the proposed initial public offering of SPI Petroleum.
